Cure for the epicure!

Food to the east, food to the west. Food to the south, food to the north. Whatever stands in our way, we will devour it.

This is a quick food guide for some eminent restaurants in Goa.

  1. DESBUE:

Cuisine type: Continental

Location: Fontainhas, Panjim

Value for taste: 9/10

Value for money: 6/10

Ambience: 10/10

Fontainhas is a painting that comes to life. With a myriad of Portuguese architecture around, this place is stocked with such finesse, that you get transported to a different era. A fine dining restaurant, nestled in a by-lane, the ambience accentuates the finesse. Desbue is easily a no-brainer for the upscale clientele with a fancy menu and a western sophisticated tone. A sit down restaurant with a plush décor, it provides a lodge above the restaurant.
As a heritage restaurant, the hotel has done a fantastic job of imbuing a charisma of boutique. The sidewalk around the building is lined with the traditional street lamps. The today’s-special menu covers the authentic dishes. A lounge like restaurant, the staff welcomes you warmly. A perfect place for those seeking solitude, since the crowd here is limited. The living room décor totally makes you feel at home.

All I can guarantee you is this place will not disappoint you. There is a sense of perfection in every aspect here. From the plush cushions to classic wall-pieces, everything is fervently immaculate. They have a lounge and a restaurant in the same area.

What I loved from there are Onion rings and Risotto while the rest was great too.

2. GRELHA:

Cuisine type: Oriental

Location: Margao

Value for taste: 9/10

Value for money: 8/10

Ambience: 7/10

This restaurant is a small one with big ideas. With a simple decor and a big menu, it was fun to pick the dishes. After a long discussion we settled for Chicken wings, Mushroom and Pasta. The drinks are equally commendable and the overall experience was great.

Chicken Majestic

This is one place I can blindly recommend you to try and you will surely fall for their menu. This place is run by Mr. Rajadhyax who keeps everything impeccable, from service to food. A well informed food guide, he recommends what suits your taste buds. A must try is Chicken Majestic, something I crave for all the time.
